Bendigo Bank began over 150 years ago, as a Building Society in Bendigo for the gold miners, and became a bank in 1995. In 2007 Bendigo Bank merged with Adelaide Bank, creating Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Ltd. The Bank has 6500 employees who serve about 1.5 million customers Australia wide in more than 500 communities.
Doncaster East Community Bank® Branch opened in 2003, after all other Bank branches had closed down in Jackson Court. Templestowe Village followed in 2009.
Both branches are managed by Manningham Community Enterprises Ltd as franchisees of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.
As a Community Bank, up to 80% of our profit goes back to local community and sporting groups, and our aim is to partner with as many local groups as possible. Over $2.4M has been given back to the Manningham community in the past 12 years.
