Coaches report
This week we played South Croydon away with them coming off a good win against Blackburn on Anzac Day.
We allowed too many uncontested marks and allowed South Croydon to play on their terms too much and with their strong midfield that was never going to work.
We also lacked purpose with ball movement going forward.
Losing Ben McLean who has been an excellent addition in the 3rd quarter didn’t help matters for our back 6.
Our effort was good but I would say below the level of the previous weeks where we had lots of strong efforts but not entire team doing it for long enough which we understand happens with a young group but it is a gap we need close quickly and not just accept.
Our better players were – Jos Landy- for the 3rd week in a row has taken on the opposition’s best midfielder and done a very good job. Jackson Winter continued his good form, this week at half back.
Blair Hudson was back to his competitive best.
Mal Owers competed really strongly all day.
And Joe Fisscher put in his best performance so far with strong contested marking.
